Joe Lyng will not feature for Kilkenny in the business end of the national hurling league.
The wing back hasn't appeared for the Black & Amber since their second-round defeat to Clare and remains unavailable due to work commitments abroad, according to The Irish Independent.
With the round-robin phase of the competition now out of the way and a quarter-final date with Offaly on the horizon this weekend, manager Brian Cody has also released Evan Cody, Chris Bolger, John Walsh and Sean Morrissey back to their clubs.
