The late Johnny Beagan Mr John (Johnny) Beagan of Annvale Road, Keady who died recently was a native of Ballymacnab and was a retired farmer. Aged in his 70s he was married to the former Lizzie Cassidy from Ballymacnab and is also survived by his sons Sean, Gerard, Paul and daughters Kathleen, Mary and Rose Frances. A lifelong Pioneer Johnny was held in very high esteem over a wide area and was admired for his many fine qualities, not least his honesty and integrity. He enjoyed Gaelic football and played for Ballymacnab back in the 40s and 50s. He was very much a family man a devoted husband and father and his death has occasioned widespread sorrow and regret. The largely attended funeral took place on Tuesday, August 31 to St Patrick's Church, Keady and burial followed in the adjoining cemetery.
