Grimley, Sean

April 28, 2005
The Late Sean Grimley The death occurred of Mr Sean Grimley, a native of Madden, who was aged 59. A son of the late Patrick and Margaret Grimley, he came from a large family whose roots are firmly embedded in the Madden area. Sean had been ill for six years, however despite his poor health and numerous hospitalistions, he always remained his cheerful and outgoing self. The man was a battler and remained that way until the end. He had worked all over England and Ireland, a man with an eye to business, active and enterprising and seldom idle. He enjoyed sport, particularly gaelic football and was a member of the famous Jim (Dodds) McVeigh's Madden Juveniles of the early 60's, many of whom went on to represent the Raparees at higher levels. Sean was a character, who never allowed life or its burdens to get him down. Forever chatty and smiling, he was a person who got on with life and seldom complained. He suffered a severe family blow with the sudden death of his only daughter Colette 18 years ago and was also predeceased by his younger brother Austin, some 11 years ago. He is survived by his wife Colette, son Paul, daughter-in-law Janet, brothers Pat and Aidan, sisters Anna, Kathleen, Susan, Eileen, Geraldine, Madeline and Bronagh and large extended family circle. Heartfelt sympathy is extended to all. The funeral was from his son's residence in Armagh to St Joseph's Church, Madden where Requiem Mass was celebrated by Fr John Gates. Interment followed in the adjoining cemetery. Courtesy of the Armagh Observer 1st April 2005
