Crossmaglen Rangers 2-15
Cargin 0-13
Crossmaglen Rangers successfully negotiated the challenge of Cargin at the Athletic Grounds but the Armagh champions didn't have it all their own way.
The eight point winning margin flattered Cross somewhat as they were made to sweat all the way by the Antrim visitors.
They hit three unanswered points in as many minutes to go in at the break on level terms (0-7 apiece)
And second-half goals from Johnny Murtagh and Johnny Hanratty helped the Oisin McConville/John McEntee coached outfit pull away.
Cargin's chances of pulling off an upset weren't helped by the second yellow card picked up by Gerard McCann in the 52nd minute.
The visitors trailed by 0-13 to 1-13 at the time but Cross capitalised on numerical advantage to net their second goal.
It was a far from convincing display from Crossmaglen, however, and they will know they have plenty of room for improvement ahead of their penultimate stage clash against Kilcoo of Down.
