O'Callaghan, Tessie

October 29, 2013
It was with great sadness that we learnt of the passing of one of our eldest and best loved citizens. Tessie O'Callaghan passed away at the weekend, and went to her eternal rest on Sunday morning in Belleek's church of St Laurence O'Toole's.
Teresa, or Tessie as she is known , was one of a generation that we will never again witness, a mother to a big family, a very well loved and respected lady, her funeral on Sunday morning epitomised all that, it being one of the biggest in the village in decades. She was a friend to everyone; great company even in her later years, she will be badly missed by her family, friends and anyone who knew her; we in Belleek have lost a real friend and neighbour, RIP Tessie.
The O'Callaghan family, and in particular Tessie has been synonymous with all that is good and Irish in the Belleek community, from football where many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren have been involved with the football club, head of a very musical family, she loved her Irish music passionately and played the accordion superbly. All at the Belleek football club, Regeneration group and the wider community, express their deepest sympathies to the O'Callaghan family and the wider family circle on their sad loss, much too many to mention. May Jesus and his holy family hold Tessie close to his most Sacred Heart, the music will be free flowing, the craic will be ninety when Tessie arrives up above.
