Armagh manager Paul Grimley had no hesitation in naming teenage star Ciaron O'Hanlon in his starting VX for Sunday's Ulster SFC preliminary round showdown with Cavan.

The 18-year-old will make his championship debut at centre half forward after impressing for St. Paul's, Bessbrook's in their run to the MacRory Cup final earlier this year.

"Once he came into the panel and started training, it just firmed up what I already knew about him," Grimley said in the Irish News.

"He is not only a skilful footballer, but extremely brainy, and very unselfish. This lad has a bright future.

"It was an easy decision (to include him). There's no reason in my mind for holding him back. If he's good enough to play, he starts. I don't like to over-complicate things.

"Ciaron will go out on Sunday and I know he's going to play well because I've great trust in him. He's going to be knocking about this Armagh team for the next 10 years or more. There's no pressure on him at all. I just want him to go out and enjoy his football."
