Ulster U21HC: Orchard too strong for Fermanagh
July 12, 2012
Armagh 4-15
Fermanagh 0-11
Armagh will face Antrim in next Wednesday's Bord Gais Energy Ulster U21HC semi-final after easing to victory over Fermanagh last night.
The Erne County defeated Tyrone a couple of weeks to claim the Ulster Shield, but found Armagh's challenge to be too big of a step-up. The underdogs had early points from Francie McBrien and John Duffy before Danny Magee's 12th minute goal settled the Orchard. Tony Duffy added a second goal in the 28th minute to put Armagh firmly in control at the break.
A Shea Gaffney goal extended the winners' lead to all of 13 points early in the second half, and while Fermanagh cut the gap, their fate was well and truly sealed when Sean Colton grabbed a fourth Armagh goal in the final quarter.
