Delargy mulls over future
February 27, 2010
Antrim star Sean Delargy is considering taking a year out from inter-county hurling.
The Cushendall clubman captained the Saffrons for the past two years, but has told manager Dinny Cahill that he wants a break from the game.
"I'm not sure if I'll be going back this year," he said in the Irish News.
"I wouldn't rule out going back next year, but I just lost my hunger last year and wasn't enjoying it at all. I spoke to Dinny last week and it's nothing personal with him.
"I just feel like taking a complete break from it. Dinny said to me the door is never closed. At the minute, I'm not missing it."
The 27-year-old half back added: "My performances for Antrim last year weren't great either, which is part of it. I should be dying to get back playing for Antrim, but I'm not hungry for it right now. You need to be 100 per cent committed about the thing and I wouldn't go back unless I felt that way."
