Bradley basks in Antrim breakthrough

Antrim football manager Liam Bradley
Liam Bradley believes that Antrim's qualification for their first Ulster SFC final in 39 years will do wonders for football in the county.
Speaking after Saturday night's semi-final win over Cavan, the delighted Saffron boss said: "We should have won the game a lot easier than the scoreline suggests because we had a couple of goal chances.
"We should have won the game by at least 10 or a dozen points. We gave away a very sloppy goal. But we are not going to worry about that now - we are in an Ulster final. To be there means everything to Antrim football.
"Antrim haven't been in a final since 1970 - 39 years is a long time for any county to not reach an Ulster final.
"And for us to get here is unbelievable. It was richly deserved."
The Derry man said he never doubted the potential in Antrim, and insisted that other so-called weaker counties can take heart from their achievement.
"I always knew that the talent was there. Antrim has the guts of 40 clubs or more and there are bound to be players there.
"I'm sure the weaker counties in Ireland are looking at Antrim now and realising what can be done with a wee bit of hard work. These guys have worked immensely for six months. They were no-hopers at the start of the year, but here we are now in an Ulster final."
