Ulster MFC: Donegal too strong for Antrim
June 15, 2009
Donegal will face Down in the Ulster MFC semi-final following a 0-14 to 0-11 victory over Antrim at Ballybofey yesterday.
The game was a lot closer than expected given that Donegal had walloped the same opposition by 2-17 to 0-7 in the Ulster minor league nine weeks ago.
Michael McEniff - grand-nephew of former Donegal All-Ireland winning manager Brian - and Dermot Molloy scored 0-3 each in the first half to help the home side to a 0-9 to 0-6 interval lead.
Scores were more difficult to come by after the restart as the heavy rain made for slippery conditions, but Donegal managed to maintain their three-point advantage thanks to a brace of points each from Molloy and impressive substitute Patrick McBrearty.
