Six changes for Donegal

June 10, 2009

Donegal manager John Joe Doherty
John Joe Doherty has announced his first championship team as Donegal manager - and there are six changes from the side beaten by Monaghan last year. The Tir Chonail men kick off their Ulster campaign at home to Antrim on Sunday afternoon. Barry Dunnion and Michael McGuire come into the half-back line, where they flank Kevin Cassidy, while Brendan Boyle has been handed the No.9 shirt. Ciaran Bonner, Michael Hegarty and Conal Dunne are others who didn't start the 2008 Round Two qualifier defeat in Ballybofey. Rory Kavanagh captains the side from left half forward and there is a familiar-looking full-back line of Eamon McGee, Neil McGee and Karl Lacey. Those to miss out for various reasons include Brian Roper, Raymond Sweeney, Brendan Devenney, David Walsh, Barry Monaghan and Christy Toye. Donegal, Ulster SFC V Antrim: Paul Durcan; Eamon McGee, Neil McGee, Karl Lacey; Barry Dunnion, Kevin Cassidy, Michael McGuire; Neil Gallagher, Brendan Boyle; Ciaran Bonner, Michael Hegarty, Rory Kavanagh; Colm McFadden, Michael Murphy, Conal Dunne.
