'Sambo' disappointed

Antrim's Terence "Sambo" McNaughton
"Very, very disappointed" was Terence 'Sambo' McNaughton's reaction to Antrim's Leinster SHC debut defeat to Dublin at Croke Park. The Antrim joint-manager had quietly fancied his side's chances before the game, but after matching the Dubs stride for stride in the first half, they fell away badly after the restart. "We thought we only hurled for 15 minutes in the first half. We got off to a very bad start," he said. "If we had taken a few of the chances we had got in the first half, we could have had a bit of momentum. Maybe we should have knocked them over and put a few points on the board. "In the second quarter, we played some lovely hurling, almost levelled it up, but they dominated the game - after about 10 minutes we were chasing the game."
