Casement Park to host Tyrone-Derry

June 07, 2009
Casement Park has been chosen to stage the Ulster SFC semi-final between Tyrone and Derry on June 21. It follows a meeting of Ulster Council officials prior to last night's Cavan-Fermanagh quarter-final tie to decide on the venue. The Belfast ground, which has a capacity of 28,000, beat off competition from Ballybofey's MacCumhaill Park and St. Tiernach's Park in Clones for the right to stage the glamour game which will have a 2pm throw-in. Meanwhile, Clones will host the other semi-final between Cavan and the winners of next Sunday's remaining quarter-final between Donegal and Antrim on Saturday, June 27 (throw-in 7pm). The Monaghan venue will also stage the provincial senior and minor finals on Sunday, July 19. The Ulster senior and minor hurling finals will take place at Casement Park on Sunday, June 28.
