Gort CS to appeal Colleges decision

September 26, 2006
Gort Community School are to appeal a decision by the Connacht Colleges Council to prevent them playing in this year's Harty Cup. The South Galway school is looking for more meaningful competition and their entry into the famous Harty Cup had already been given the green light by the Munster Colleges Council. However, they failed to receive similar backing from the Connacht Colleges authorities. The Munster Colleges hurling championship gets underway on Wednesday, September 27 with defending champions Midleton CBS taking on Limerick City Colleges. Midleton will be able to call on eight of last year's team, including Paidi O'Sullivan, who scored 1-3 for his club Cloyne in the Cork SHC last weekend.
