O'Donoghue injured in club game

Brian O'Donoghue in goals
Galway substitute goalkeeper Brian O'Donoghue could miss the Connacht final against Mayo after suffering a head injury in a weekend club game. Play was held up for 20 minutes as O'Donoghue was stretchered off the field during Claregalway's clash with Clonbur at Tuam Stadium. His injury will be a big concern to Galway boss Peter Ford, who may have to seek alternative cover for first choice goalkeeper Alan Keane. Better news for Ford was the performance of Joe Bergin for Mountbellew-Moylough in their 1-10 to 1-9 extra-time victory over Michael Breathnachs in Athenry. The big midfielder made a brief appearance as a substitute in the Connacht semi-final win over Roscommon, and continued his comeback from a knee injury by playing the full game for his club.
