Cork attacker Shane Barrett has had the red card he received against Tipperary in Round 3 of the Allianz Hurling League upheld by the Central Hearings Committee (CHC).
Barrett received his marching orders in the Pairc Ui Chaoimh clash just before half-time for ‘contributing to a melee’, with Tipp forward Jason Forde also seeing red.
It means that the Rebels star is set to miss his team’s next two league outings against Kilkenny and Limerick in March.
Barrett still has the option to take his case to the Central Appeals Committee (CAC) in a bid to try and get his suspension overturned.
