Sixmilebridge 1-21
Clonlara 0-15
Niall Gilligan rolled the back the years with a superb display of marksmanship as Sixmilebridge claimed their second Canon Hamilton Cup in three years at Cusack Park, Ennis.
The 39-year-old former county star fired over 13 points - 12 from placed balls - as the 'Bridge saw off their neighbours with a surprisingly comfortable victory.
Gilligan signalled his intent by posting the opening three points before Alex Morey scored the only goal in the eighth minute to double the winners' lead. Cathal O'Connell eventually opened Clonlara's account and they improved as they half wore on with Micheal O'Loughlin accurate from frees. However, John O'Meara's charges were full value for their 1-8 to 0-8 interval lead.
With Gilligan splitting the posts a further eight times, the 'Bridge pulled away in the second period. Sean Stack's disappointing Clonlara side created a few late goal chances, but Colm Galvin, John Conlon and O'Loughlin were all denied.
