Derry captain Mark Lynch admits he is relieved to be winning his race to be fit for Sunday's division 2 league final.

The Oak Leaf County defender has missed the last few rounds of the league with a hand injury, but he came through a club match last weekend unscathed.

And now, he is ready to lead the side out at Croke Park on Sunday afternoon, but admitted to the County Derry Post that he didn't know if he would be picked or not.

"It was good to be back, but I definitely wasn't at my best," said Lynch of his club return.

"My hand was fine, thank God, that held out alright, but there was a bit of rustiness there so I have a bit to do yet before I'm 100%." Tweet
