HL top scorers: Ryan's lead looks untouchable

April 23, 2013

Practice makes perfect
Barring a 'Roy of the Rovers' type display in the league final, Clare's Colin Ryan will finish the 2013 HL as the competition's top scorer.

His ten point haul in the relegation playoff against Cork ten days ago coupled with Joe Canning's exit from the league on Sunday, means he is well clear of the chasing field after scoring 0-58.

Just the Division 1 final remains and Eoin Larkin (0-31) and Seamus Callanan (1-25) are the leading scorers for Kilkenny and Tipperary respectively.

The top scorers in each division are Ryan (1A); Shane Dooley (1B); Shane Nolan, Kerry (2A); Paul Braniff, Down (2B); Damien Casey, Tyrone (3A); and Eoin Donnellan, Longford in 3B.

In the goal scoring charts five players lead the way with four goals - Donegal duo Paddy Hannigan and Stephen Boyle, together with Shane Nolan, Shane Dooley and Armagh's Conor Corvan. Ten players have scored three goals.

The highest individual score during the competition is shared between Leitrim's Clement Cunniffe (1-13 v Warwickshire) and Kerry's Shane Nolan (2-10 v Kildare),
