Club Notes 04/04/2021

A very Happy Easter to all of our members and the wider community. We were all waiting anxiously for the announcement from the Government on the return to play for our members, there was good news for inter county players who will return to training on April 19th, and our juveniles will be back on Monday 26th ( all going well) and we can’t wait to see you all back up there. Unfortunately not such good news for our senior players who have to sit tight and wait to return to play at a later date that still has to be confirmed. All we can ask of you that you adhere to the government recommendations and support each other in any way possible.

As indicated in the last communication from the GAA & LGFA, return to play for Juvenile Training (U18) is expected to take place from the 26th of April.

In light of this, it is vital that members have registered with the club.

Registration forms and further details will be issued during the week to all coaches.  As well as this registration forms can be picked up at the club house next Saturday during the clothing collection (2pm to 4pm).

The Club executive had their monthly meeting online on Tuesday 30th March and after a short discussion it was agreed unanimously that our Club Person Of The Year Trophy will now be known as The Jack Magee Trophy. Jack was a lifetime member of our club and contributed so much to the day to day running of the club and was always on hand to help in anyway that he could. As a former recipient of this Trophy and to such a great club person it’s an honour to name it after Jack.

So who will be the worthy recipient be this year? Well that’s up to our members to decide. We ask that anyone who is a payed up member from last season to cast your votes by emailing Chair Person John Williams with your nomination. Email address for John was sent out to members 2weeks ago and we ask that all nominations be in by Friday 9th at the very latest. Our awards night will take place on Saturday 23rd April virtually. We’ll update you closer to the time.

The HCP Team were absolutely delighted to receive a very generous donation of footballs for our inclusion section. We the team and the parents want to thank our Ladies section for the very kind gesture. We were also gifted some Easter Eggs by Colin Yeats of Dunnes Stores Blessington so on Saturday we made our way around to see all of our little pals that were within the 5K area and the delight on their little faces was priceless. We plan to get back to our Sunday morning sessions on May 2nd.

Continuing on with the HCP we received our brand new state of the art Defibrillator on Saturday that so much of you helped fundraise for. It’s now in place of the old model in the same location at the “Shop”.
