Daithi Burke has been omitted from the Galway squad for their Leinster SHC semi-final clash with Wexford as the four-time All-Star full back recovers from a calf injury.

The 27-year-old suffered the injury while playing for Turloughmore in their run to the county SHC final earlier this month. His namesake Fintan will fill the void on the edge of the square at Croke Park tomorrow evening (throw-in 6.15pm).

There is some good news, however, as marksman Joe Canning returns to the starting line-up at centre forward. The Tribesmen will be hoping the Portumna star can put his recent injury struggles behind him and lead them to success this winter.

Galway (Leinster SHC v Wexford): Eanna Murphy; Sean Loftus, Fintan Burke, Aidan Harte; Padraic Mannion, Gearoid McInerney, Shane Cooney; Cathal Mannion, Johnny Coen; Conor Cooney, Joe Canning, Joseph Cooney; Brian Concannon, Conor Whelan, Jason Flynn.

Subs: James Skehill, Darren Morrissey, Jack Fitzpatrick, TJ Brennan, Adrian Tuohy, Sean Linnane, Jack Grealish, David Burke, Tadgh Haran, Evan Niland, Niall Burke.
