Maynooth SLS, Naas CBS and St Mel's College advance to Br Bosco Cup quarter-finals

Maynooth SLS, Naas CBS and St Mel's College have joined Coláiste Choilm, Tullamore, Wexford Schools, Good Counsel College and Scoil Mhuire, Clane in the Leinster Schools SF ‘A’ Championship (Br Bosco Cup) quarter-finals.

Maynooth sprung an upset at Pairc Tailteann this afternoon when beating St Patrick's CS 1-13 to 1-9. St Pat's had dethroned holders St Joseph’s, Rochfortbridge in their previous outing.

Back-to-back champions in 2018 and 2019, Naas CBS defeated Coláiste Mhuire, Mullingar 1-16 to 1-9 at Hawkfield.

In today's other preliminary quarter-final, St Mel's College recorded a double-scores victory over hosts Athlone CC, 2-20 to 1-10.

At Stradbally yesterday, Harry Plunkett scored 1-9 as Coláiste Choilm, Tullamore ousted St Peter's College, Wexford by 2-12 to 1-14.

Marist College, Athlone will meet St Mary's Knockbeg College for the last remaining spot in Kiltoom tomorrow afternoon (throw-in 12noon).

Good Counsel College, Scoil Mhuire, Clane and group team winners Wexford Schools received a bye into the quarter-finals proper with the next stage to be played out in the New Year.
