Inter-County Return to play

Our inter-county squads have now returned to collective training and our hurlers will be first into action as the Allianz National Hurling League resumes on the weekend of 8/9 May and continues without interruption until Sunday 13 June.

This means that Westmeath will face the five major powers in hurling on successive weekends in a series of high profile matches unprecedented in the history of hurling in the county. Based on last year's schedule Westmeath will face Galway (home), Waterford (away), Cork (away), Tipperary and Limerick (home).

The Allianz National Football League begins on the weekend of 15/16 May. Westmeath's opening matches in Division 2 North will be against last year's relegated teams from Division 1 Meath (away) and Mayo (home) with the final match in the division against Down. These matches are also played on successive weekends.
