Westmeath GAA:  Lake County Challenge Movathon:

We call on all Westmeath Gaels, at home and abroad, to take part in our Lake County Movathon Challenge to help raise vital funds (for all our county teams and to help in the refurbishment of our home TEG Cusack Park) and to also improve our physical and mental wellbeing.

We are asking our 47 clubs and supporters (at home and abroad) and their families to take part and walk, run, cycle or swim a distance of their choice. The target of the Movathon Lake County Challenge is to make the 75 Km virtual journey across the county from Clonmellon to Athlone without moving outside the 5 Km limit permitted under the Covid-19 restrictions. Walking just over 2 Km daily will get that mission accomplished.

Make sure to tag all our social media pages and to include the hashtag #lakecountychallenge after you participate in the challenge and/or donate to our GoFundMe page so we can share across our social media channels.

Make sure to leave a comment when donating and tell us what part of the county or world you are from.

Also, in these difficult times, make sure to adhere to all local restrictions/guidelines wherever you may be located when taking part.

All your support and donations are not taken lightly and are greatly appreciated!!!!!!

Raharney Hurling and Camogie Club Village Clean up

As a sign of gratitude and much appreciation, Raharney Hurling & Camogie club want to give back to the community, that have been so supportive of us for the last 12 months through these difficult times. The support shown in recent fundraising events has been overwhelming and both clubs would like repay some of that support, At approximately 9:45 the hurlers, camogie players and committee members will be setting out to pick the litter from the Raharney Village roadsides, As a note please pay due care when traveling the routes out of the village, Members will be wearing Hi-Viz vests with spotters along the roadsides, For any members who would like to help or participate please feel free to join the efforts, All members will be adhering to current social distancing recommendations,
