Eire Og turned on the style in the second-half to brush aside The Nire and move towards a Munster club senior football championship semi-final date against Kerins O’Rahillys.
It finished 3-11 to 0-5 at Cusack Park, Ennis, where the hosts registered 3-5 of their tally during the third quarter unanswered.
After the sides had went on 0-2 apiece at the end of a drab first-half, it was the Clare champions that tormented their Waterford counterparts after the turnaround with goals with Gavin Cooney (2-4) and Mark McInerney firing in their goals.
There was coming back from there for The Nire and they’d see full-forward Craig Guiry sent off towards the end.
As for Eire Og, the Ennis now look forward to a date against Kerry champions Kerins O’Rahillys in two weeks’ time when a provincial final berth will be up for grabs.
