It was a busy evening in the minor hurling and football championships with action in three provinces.

Kilkenny and Wexford will contest the Leinster MHC final, after they came through their respective last-four battles.

In a repeat of the 2020 decider, Kilkenny defeated Offaly 3-23 to 1-16 at UPMC Nowlan Park, with captain Harry Shine hitting a whopping 2-15 for the hosts.

The final scoreline was hardly a fair reflection on the game as the Faithfuls trailed the Cats by just two points with ten minutes remaining.

Two late goals from Shine and substitute Cillian Hackett put a seal on the victory.

At Chadwicks Wexford Park, Luke Roche top-scored with nine points from placed balls as the hosts recorded an impressive 1-15 to 1-12 win over Dublin.

The sides were level on six occasions, including half-time at 1-7 apiece as Denis McSweeney (Dublin) and Simon Roche (Wexford) traded goals.

Wexford enjoyed a productive spell at the start of the second-half when points by Luke Roche, Cian Doyle and Luke Murphy put them 1-11 to 1-8 ahead and that proved crucial in the end.

In the Munster MFC quarter-finals, Waterford endured a 5-28 to 0-3 hammering at the hands of Cork in Dungarvan.

Jamie O'Driscoll netted a hat-trick while Niall Kelly chipped in with eight points for Michael O'Brien's charges.

They will now face neighbours and holders Kerry in the semi-finals on Friday week.

Limerick also advance to the next stage with a 2-9 to 1-9 defeat of Tipperary at the LIT Gaelic Grounds.

Marc Nolan and Ruairi Cronin raised the green flags for the winners.

Elsewhere, in the Ulster MFC preliminary round, Paddy McElwee (2), Michael Callaghan and Kevin McCormack bagged goals as Donegal powered to a resounding 4-22 to 0-8 win against Antrim in Ballybofey.
