Upcoming fixture:
Harlesden Harps will have their first chance of silverware with the final of the McCardle Cup this weekend playing St Clarets on Sunday September 27th at 2:00pm at the county ground of McGovern Park in Ruislip (14 Masson Avenue, HA4 6QU). As usual, make sure you check public transport is in use and for any likely traffic delays, etc and ensure everyone is at the venue nice and early for a proper preparation for the game.
Let’s fill up that trophy cabinet!
Previous match:
Harlesden Harps had their first run out of the disrupted 2020 season with an impressive opening against fellow Junior competitors, Taras. A beautiful, warm, sunny day meant there could be no excuses to not seeing some quality football and, true to the conditions, we did indeed see just that! Plenty of positive, free-flowing moves from the Harps saw them take command of the game and have a substantial 1-09 to 0-04 lead at the half time oranges. More of the same in the second half with plenty of impressive scores from Ryan McSherry, Dan Howlin and two goal hero, Darren Lynch (he could have had the hat trick if he had learned to score penalties) saw us triumph on a scoreline of 2-14 to 0-09. Let’s take this positive start forward for the year ahead!
Training:
Training continues every week taking place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, at 7:00pm in The Shamrock Club, 307A Horn Lane, Acton, W3 0BP (nearest tube station: North Acton on the Central Line). A physio will be there on Tuesdays for any niggles you may have. Any new players wishing to "play a bit a ball" are very welcome to come along to this well-run club. If needed we can offer good jobs, along with accommodation and a social life to our members. Transport to and from training and pick up from local stations can also be arranged.
