Cathal McShane was counting the days until he could get back to action with Tyrone and today he made an impressive return for the Red Hands against Cavan in Omagh.
The hosts scored a 1-18 to 0-13 victory over the Breffni men, dethroning them of their Ulster SFC title and moving into a provincial championship semi-final in the process.
McShane hadn’t featured for his county since February 2020 due to injury and made an impact off the bench in the 12th minute of the second-half at Healy Park, where he finished with 0-3 to his name.
"It's just good to be back playing, a good win there. That's what it was all about today, just getting over the line,” the Owen Roes clubman told Off The Ball afterwards.
"We've had a mixed league campaign so just get over the line today and hopefully the season takes off."
He added: "The boys have backed me all the way, I've had so much good support. I believe it's 503 days since my game, it's just so good to be back out there playing and pulling on the jersey for Tyrone."
