A well-known Tyrone referee appeared on the hit ITV quiz show ‘The Chase’ earlier this week.
Drumragh Sarsfields clubman Fabian McGlone narrowly missing out on £8,500 after making it through several rounds of screening and quiz questions from producers. Presented by Bradley Walsh, the show sees contestants attempt to win money by challenging a trivia expert known as ‘The Chaser’.
Fabian racked up an impressive £9,000 in his cash builder before beating Mark Labbett, also known as ‘The Beast’, to get through to the final round. However, ‘The Beast’ had the last laugh when he reached a target of 15 set by Fabian and fellow-contestant Angelene with 22 seconds to spare.
Had they won, Fabian – who is a teacher in Newtownstewart – and Angelene would have split £17,000 between them.
