Croke Park to host Ulster SFC final as provincial U20FC decider postponed as mark of respect

Croke Park will host the Ulster SFC final between Monaghan and Tyrone.
The intriguing Anglo-Celt Cup decider has been fixed for Saturday week, 31 July, with throw-in timed for 4pm, Ulster GAA confirmed in a statement this evening.
It will not be the first time that the Ulster SFC final will be played at GAA headquarters, as between 2004 and '06, it was staged there to to accomodate growing interest in Ulster football.
Meanwhile, Monaghan's Ulster U20FC final against Down scheduled for Saturday has been postponed as a mark of respect for the late Brendán Óg Duffy, their captain who tragically lost his life in a car crash on his way home from the semi-final win over Donegal last Friday evening.
It will now take place at the Athletic Grounds on Friday week, 30 July.
"Following a meeting of Ulster CCC this evening, it has been agreed that the 2021 Ulster Senior Football Championship Final will be played in Croke Park on Saturday 31st July at 4pm," a statement by Ulster GAA reads.
"Ulster CCC also considered a request from Monaghan GAA to postpone the EirGrid Ulster Under 20 Football Championship Final, which had been scheduled for this Saturday, due to the tragic death of their team captain, Brendan Óg Duffy. Ulster CCC have acceded to this request and this game has been rescheduled for Friday 30th July, in Athletic Grounds, Armagh."
