Tyrone attacker Cathal McShane has returned to full training three weeks ahead of his side’s Ulster senior football championship opener against Cavan.

Top-scorer in the 2019 All-Ireland SFC, McShane hasn’t featured for the Red Hands since February of last year due to injury.

His return will come as a major boost to joint-managers Feargal Logan and Brian Dooher as they prepare their charges for a meeting with the Ulster champions in Omagh on July 10th.

“Cathal is coming on very well and has full participation essentially,” Logan told strabanechronicle.com.

"But because it’s such a long time off with Cathal, we’re just reintegrating him gently.

"We are hopeful for him that it all comes together."

Meanwhile, fellow attacker Darragh Canavan looks to be in some doubt for next month’s meeting with the Breffni men after suffering an ankle injury against Kerry a fortnight ago.

"Darragh had an ankle injury, it just innocently happened during that Kerry game," Logan stated. "And it's going to keep him out for a couple of weeks here. But the early signs are good, albeit it's a very painful injury and debilitating injury.

It's very unfortunate for Darragh. But hopefully it's a matter of weeks and not beyond that.

"We've got to just take it day by day, week by week for the meantime. He may be in difficulty for the Cavan game."
