"If you need motivation from a previous loss to get you going you are in real trouble"

Galway defender Aidan Harte says he doesn’t see Sunday’s All-Ireland SHC semi-final clash against Limerick as a shot at redemption for their 2018 final loss.

The Tribesmen and the Shannonsiders clash in the championship for the first time since then and Harte, who struck the decisive goal against Tipperary last weekend, doesn’t feel as though the decider from two years ago has any relevance to this weekend.

"Personally, I don't think so," Harte told GAA.ie. "I was asked the last day is it a shot at redemption. Absolutely not.

"I wouldn't be looking on it that way at all. 2018 was Limerick's game, nothing will ever change that. It is an All-Ireland semi-final.

"If you need motivation from a previous loss to get you going you are in real trouble.

“So, no I don't think it has any bearing on what happens on Sunday."
