Wexford to hold big three in reserve

Wexford manager Davy Fitzgerald has suggested that it is unlikely three of his experienced players will start against Dublin this weekend.

Lee Chin, Matthew O’Hanlon and Diarmuid O’Keeffe all came on in the win against Kilkenny last weekend, and it is expected that they would start the clash against the Dubs at Croke Park.

However, Fitzgerald has told the Wexford People that all three are not fit enough to last 70 minutes for this weekend’s clash at the very least.

“I don’t believe Lee, Matthew or Dee will start the game. They are only just back, stepping up their training, but they are not yet ready for 70 minutes hurling,” said Fitzgerald. “They are getting there but not 70 minutes just yet.”

Wexford are currently third in the table behind Clare and Kilkenny with two rounds of the league to go and a win over Dublin would keep them in the hunt for promotion.
