O'Keeffe unsure of Dubs start

Wexford's Diarmuid O'Keeffe and Cian Boland of Dublin

Diarmuid O’Keeffe will leave it up to Davy Fitzgerald to decide whether or not to give him a starting jersey against Dublin.

Wexford’s 2019 All Star midfielder made his first appearance of the season against Kilkenny on Sunday, making a telling contribution after coming off the bench in the 50th minute as the Model County got the better of the Cats at Wexford Park. With so little competitive hurling under his belt this year, O’Keeffe is coy about his chances of starting in Croke Park on Saturday evening:

“That’s Davy’s decision there. I only scraped into the squad, I was told during the week,” the St Anne’s man told The Irish Sun.

“Look, I’m improving every training session. I got a full 70 minutes in a challenge game against Waterford last weekend so that was great to get that under my belt but a league game I think is a little bit of a stretch.”
