Lucky Mayo couple scoop one of Ireland's biggest club lotto jackpots

Everyone loves a good news story and this is certainly one of them.
The pain of Mayo’s All-Ireland SFC final defeat last Saturday will have been eased for one Alan Larkin this week after the Ballintubber native struck it lucky to win the Shrule/Glencorrib GAA club lotto.
The €29,300 jackpot was won this past Monday night and is one of the highest lotto jackpots for any GAA club in the country. It's also one of the best-known lotto jackpots in the west of Ireland.
Alan’s and his wife Dara got married 18 months ago and had their baby boy Elijah just 11 weeks ago. They had been saving for a deposit so they could start building their house and Monday night’s big win is obviously a great start for them.
Still one of the highest club lotto jackpots in the country, Shrule/Glencorrib GAA will be now be starting its new jackpot back at €20,000.
