"I expect them to punish Kildare"

Dublin's Brian Fenton and David Slattery of Kildare

Former Westmeath star Dessie Dolan expects “normal service to resume” when Dublin meet Kildare in Sunday’s Leinster SFC final.

The All-Ireland champions have yet to hit top gear in this summer’s championship, having seen off Wexford and Meath with below par performances to reach another provincial decider at Croke Park this weekend.

Speaking on the RTE GAA podcast, Dolan said he can see the Dubs punishing the Lilywhites at headquarters on Sunday.

"If Kildare need one thing injected into them it’s a bit of steel and cut. Jack O’Connor has brought a bit of it, but not enough.

"Dublin have listened to a lot of thunder the last while. I expect them to show a bit of edge coming into this weekend.

"I expect them to punish Kildare. With Kildare missing a couple of players I think they could be in big bother.

"Daniel Flynn is so exciting, a real rough diamond. He needs to have an outrageous game and get goals for Kildare. But, at the same time, I just don’t see it.

"I expect a strong performance from Dublin and normal service to resume."
