Wylie expects "tight and tense" Ulster SFC final

Monaghan defender Ryan Wylie says he expects another “tight and tense” affair when he and his team mates come up against Tyrone in Saturday’s Ulster SFC final.

The Farney men are gunning for their first Anglo-Celt Cup since 2015, while the Red Hands are looking to end a four-year wait for the crown which would put them level on 16 wins apiece with their neighbours.

Speaking to RTE Sport ahead of the decider at Croke Park (throw-in 4pm), Wylie is anticipating a battle at headquarters this weekend.

"Every game with Tyrone is different from others,” the Ballybay man pointed out. “We’ve played them a lot over the last couple of years, both of us have been in Division 1, both of us have come against each other in championship matches.

"I think they’re probably the same as us, there’s not really much that we don’t know about each other at this stage.

"I can’t say exactly what way the game will be but they’re normally tight and tense affairs and I’m sure it’ll be something similar this weekend.

"Any time you go into an Ulster Championship you generally realise that if you’re going to be lucky enough to get to a final or go try and win it, then you’re going to have to come across them at some stage. Hopefully we’ll be able to come out on the right end of it."
