#DoItForDan fundraising campaign ready to reach €2 million target

April 25, 2020

'Do It For Dan' is a fundraising drive for young Dan Donoher, son of former Laois footballers Niall and Aisling Donoher.

The #DoItForDan fundraising campaign for little Dan Donoher is ready to reach its target of €2 million to take the 1-year-old boy to America to get life saving treatment, just eight weeks after being launched.

On the Do It For Dan GoFundMe page, the figure currently stands at over €1.7m but with fundraising activity still ongoing, campaign organisers believe that they have achieved their goal.

Dan, who is the son of former Laois footballers Niall and Aisling Donoher, was diagnosed last December with a rare genetic neuromuscular disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1 and Scoliosis.

The GAA community has played a significant role in helping to support the fundraising drive with clubs and players all over the country and the world hosting their own unique fundraisers.
