Ken Hogan’s recent winning streak as a manager continued last Sunday when he guided Lorrha-Dorrha to a comprehensive victory over Moneygall in the Tipperary IHC final at FBD Semple Stadium.

The two-time Tipperary All-Ireland winning goalkeeper returned to manage his native club this year after leading St Rynagh’s to a three-in-a-row of Offaly SHC titles last November. Hogan previously won the Sean Robbins Cup twice with Coolderry and led them to an All-Ireland club final appearance in 2012 when they came up short against Loughgiel Shamrocks of Antrim.

He also managed Tipp to an All-Ireland U21HC title in 2010, having served as senior boss a few years earlier.

Christy Fogarty scored a hat-trick of goals and Patrick ‘Bonnar’ Maher also netted late on as Lorrha prevailed on a 4-15 to 3-12 scoreline to make an instant return to the new Tipp Premier IHC for 2023.

Lorrha are coached by former Offaly sharpshooter Brian Carroll whose Coolderry side were pipped by Hogan’s St Rynagh’s charges in last year’s Offaly SHC decider.
