Tipperary hurling manager Liam Sheedy has led the tributes to the Roscrea GAA stalwart and Tipperary underage team bus driver Bertie Fitzpatrick, who passed away yesterday.
The deceased was a former chairman, mentor and sponsor of Roscrea Hurling Club, while his bus brought generations of young players from Roscrea and North Tipperary to training and matches.
As a mark of respect, St Cronan's Park in Roscrea will remain closed until after Bertie's Funeral Mass and cremation tomorrow.
TweetSo sorry to hear of the passing of Bertie Fitzpatrick. An integral part of all underage teams in Tipperary and the atmosphere on his bus was always top class. Done so much for @RoscreaHurling over the years. My thoughts and prayers are with Josie, Joseph, Niamh and family. RIP. https://t.co/h1kYwQdT1l
