This was a very hard-fought game which we unlucky to lose out on the night as late goals turned the way of our opponents who were slightly the better team  The table after two rounds reads as follows: Caherline and Ballybricken/ Bohermore both on four points, Dromcollogher/ Broadford, Crecora/ Manister both on two points, Templeglantine and Old Christians but on zero points. Our next game is against Templeglantine, on this coming Saturday September 19th, in Tournafulla, at 5pm.  Please Support your local club team.

 

Michael Martin of Ballybricken/ Bohermore scored the first two points of the game and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next 1-3 without reply to take the lead for the first time during the game with the goal coming from Michael O’Sullivan as he finished well, and the points came from Michael O’Sullivan with 2 points to continue his fast start and Damien Burke a point.  Ballybricken/ Bohermore scored the next two points to leave two points between and these points came from Dan McGuire, Eoghan O’Neill. Derry McCarthy of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and John McCarthy of Ballybricken/ Bohermore exchanged points and then Eddie Prunty of Dromcollogher/ Broadford from long range  and Michael Martin of Ballybricken exchanged points.  Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points to lead by four points and these points came from Kevin Noonan ,with another long-range strike , Derry McCarthy, and Shane Murphy and then just before the break Ballybricken/ Bohermore replied with pointed coming from John McCarthy to leave a goal between the sides at end of the half.  To leave the score at half-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-8 to Ballybricken/ Bohermore 0-8.

 

Conor McCarthy of Ballybricken/ Bohermore and Shane Murphy of Dromcollogher/ Broadford exchanged points early in the second half and then Conor McCarthy of Ballybricken/ Bohermore and Derry McCarthy exchanged pointed frees.  Damien Burke of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Eoghan O’Neill of Ballybricken/ Bohermore exchanged points and then Damien Burke of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Conor McCarthy of Ballybricken/ Bohermore exchanged points.  Ballybricken/ Bohermore scored the next two and the points came from Michel Martin and Conor McCarthy to leave four points between the sides at water break.  Michael Martin of Ballybricken/ Bohermore scored a goal to leave a point between the sides and then Derry McCarthy of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Michael Martin of Ballybricken/ Bohermore exchanged points.  Dan Owens of Ballybricken/ Bohermore and Micheál Brosnan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford exchanged points and then Eddie Prunty of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Conor McCarthy exchanged points.   Eoin O’Neill of Ballybricken/ Bohermore scored their second goal of the game to give them victory on the night by four points.  To the score at full-time Ballybricken/ Bohermore 2-17 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-16.

This was a game of two halves with Monagea leading by at the break by 0-9 to 0-2 and then in second half Dromcollogher/ Broadford outscored by Monagea 0-3 to 0-2, with our points coming off Declan Stack 3 points, Michael Barrett, and Niall O’Brien a point each and our next match is against Knockaderry, on this coming Friday 17th, in Feenagh, at 6.15pm. Monagea scored the first two points of the game and then Brian Stack scored the first pointed for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave a point between the sides.  Monagea scored the pointed free and then Brian Stack scored another pointed for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave a point between the sides. Monagea scored the next six points to by seven points at the break.  To leave the score at half-time Monagea 0-9 to Dromcollogher 0-2.

 

Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first two points of the second half coming from Michael Barrett and Brian Stack to leave five points between the sides.  Monagea scored the next two points of the game to lead by seven points and then Niall O’Brien scored the last point of the game to leave six points between the sides at end of the game.  To leave the score at full-time Monagea 0-11 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-05.

U19 County B Hurling Championship Round 2

 

We were well defeated by St. Kieran’s on a scoreline of 3-13 to 1-06, with our goal coming from Killian Cahill, in the first of the game, this was our last game of the year in the U19 Hurling Championship the above club would like to thank the panel of players and the management team of Adrian Cahill, Pat McCarthy and Eoin Barry.

 

U13 Hurling Division 2 Shield Semi-Final

 

We beaten Knockaderry on a score line of 3-5 to 4-0, this was a game of two halves with Dromcollogher/ Broadford leading by 3-0 to 0-1 with our goals in the first half coming from Daniel Fealy, John Lenihan and Jack Noonan and then the second half Knockaderry outscored us by 3-4 to 1-0 with our goal coming from Colin Burke from a penalty in the dying moments of the game to leave two points between the sides at end of the game the above club would to thank the panel of players and the management team Maurice Browne, Marty Stokes, John O’Dell, Keith Lacey and Paddy Lordan and the Supporters.

 

Dromcollogher/ Broadford GAA Club Lotto Draw

The following are the Results of the Lotto Draw that took place on the 13-09-2021, and the numbers were: 12, 17, 24, 26. There was no winner of Jackpot at €3,100 and there was no winner of match three at €100 and the Lucky Dips at €50 each were: Jack Noonan, Dromcollogher and J & E Murphy and next week’s draw will take place Monday 13-09-21, in the GAA Field, Dromcollogher and the Jackpot will be going up to €3,200 and the Match Three will be staying at €100.

 

Lotto tickets are available in local shops in the area where the boxes are provided and available for sale in the local square on Friday and Saturday mornings from 9am to 1pm.

 

New Defibrillator and Defibrillator Training

 

On behalf of Dromcollogher/Broadford GAA we would like to thank everyone that contributed to our fundraiser to purchase our new defibrillator and heated storage box. We now have a new LIFEPAK CR2 Defibrillator stored in a heated Defibstore 4000 Polycarbonate box, and it is positioned on the front wall of our clubhouse.

Dromcollogher/Broadford GAA would like to train all our community in how to use the defibrillator, especially given what has happened in recent times. We think everyone should avail of this opportunity. If you are interested in availing of this training for free, please contact one of the following club members:
