Offaly manager John Maughan has urged the forwards that are there to step up and take their chance.
The Faithful County are light in the forward area and that didn’t help their cause as they played out a 0-10 apiece draw against Longford last weekend.
Maughan told the Midland Tribune that they are lacking in that area at the moment, but added it is giving other players the opportunity to impress.
“Obviously Cian Farrell is a loss, picking up an unfortunate injury which will see him out for the next couple of months,” stated Maughan.
“Johnny Moloney would allow us to push Eoin Carroll up into a more forward position if he were fit but he won’t be for another couple of weeks.
“There are a number of issues there, but at the same time, it is what it is. We have to go with it and hopefully the boys who are playing there will step up and improve.”
Offaly travel to Drogheda this Sunday to take on Louth before the break. Throw in is at 2pm.
