Junior A Semi Final

Rhode Junior footballers lost out to neighbors Edenderry on a score-line of 2-12 to 4-10. It was a ding dong battle which I firmly believe Rhode were unlucky not to win it having led for sometime throughout the game but suffered a number of key losses due to injury. . Both team and management can be very proud of their performances Sunday and throughout the Championship.  A special thanks to the management team of Joe Malone, Pat McManus and Roy Malone.

Team: Phil O'Connell. Mossy Muldoon, David Rigney, Keith Murphy, Keith Kerrigan, Gareth McNamee, Dan O'Brien, Aidan Brereton, Gavin Young, Anthony Kilmuuray, Glen O'Connell, Barry Coffey, James Murphy, Donal Hickey, Stephen O'Connell, Subs Robbie Leavy for Glen O'Connell, Carl Hannon for Mossy Muldoon, James Coffey for Robbie Leavy, Declan Murphy for Dan O'Brien , Niall Cole for Barry Coffey.

U13 Football championship

Rhode U13's traveled to Ferbane on Friday evening last (16th August) in the final round of the group stages in the Offaly Championship. Rhode had the advantage of a strong breeze in the first half and used it well to their advantage going in on a scoreline of 3-5 to 3 points at half time. Making several positional changes at half time and using the full depth of their bench through the second half, Rhode withheld Ferbane's constant pressure and worked the ball very well up the field on the counter attack. With a final scoreline of 5-09 to 0-09 points, Rhode have now topped their group unbeaten and move straight into the Quarter Final's where they will await the winners of the preliminary's.

Rhode would like to thank Robert Dunne who refereed the game excellently for both teams, and a special note of thanks to the Ferbane management and players who welcomed us so warmly.
