Seamus McEnaney will remain in charge of Monaghan’s senior footballers for a third season.

Monaghan county board confirmed this morning that the Corduff clubman will remain in charge for the 2022 campaign after last night’s management meeting.

“Following a management meeting last night, Monaghan GAA have re-ratified Seamus McEnaney and his backroom team as our Senior Management Team,” the brief statement from Monaghan GAA read. 

This past summer saw Monaghan reaching the Ulster SFC final where they lost out by a single point at Croke Park to eventual All-Ireland winners Tyrone.

Having previously managed his native county from 2004 to 2010, McEnaney has had Donie Buckley, Peter Donnelly, Conor Laverty, David McCague and Ray Boyne in his backroom team through his second term.

Back in April, the Farney boss was suspended for 12 weeks by the county board for the team’s training breach which broke Covid-19 restrictions at the time.
