Doohamlet G.F.C Results:  Our senior team played their second game of the Group One Intermediate Football Championship against Corduff in Corduff on Saturday afternoon last.   

Corduff opened the scoreboard with a point from play, it took a little while for Doohamlet to settle into the game but when we got started, we hit six unanswered scores, three points from captain Barry Mc Ginn, two from Barry Mc Bennett and one from Colin Walshe which left the score at the first water break Doohamlet 0-6 Corduff 0-1. 

 

After the water break Corduff scores a goal and two points bringing them back into the game, however Doohamlet step up once again with some fine scores three coming from Oisin O Neill, Barry Mc Ginn one point and brother Hugh with a great run to put another over the bar, leaving the score at half time Doohamlet 0-12 Corduff 1-04. 

The second half gets off to a quiet start until Barry Mc Bennett is brought down in the square resulting in a penalty.  Colin Walshe steps up to the mark and places the ball in the roof of the net, Colin sends another over the bar before the second water break leaving the score line Doohamlet   1-13 Corduff 1-06.   

Going into the last quarter Doohamlet led by seven points with Oisin O Neill adding two more great scores and Barry Mc Ginn scoring another from play bringing the final score to Doohamlet 1-16 Corduff 1-07.  It was an overall great performance from the team with everyone digging in and giving it their all.  Well done to the team and management.

Doohamlet G.F.C  Reserve Team Played Inniskeen Tuesday evening in the Semi-final of the Platinum Tanks Reserve Crawley Cup Football Championship .  The final score was   Doohamlet 2-12  Inniskeen  0-19    Full report in next week’s notes. 

Doohamlet G.F.C. Fixtures: Our U-17s play Latton in the final of the league on Sunday the 12th @ 1.30pm in Blackhill.  Please come along and support the lads.
