Former Monaghan boss Malachy O’Rourke has returned to management after being appointed supremo of Derry club Glen.

BBC NI reports that the Fermanagh native has taken the reins of the club which is home to recently retired AFL star Conor Glass, who made his senior debut for Derry against Longford last weekend.

O’Rourke has been out of management since stepping down with Monaghan in June 2019 following their qualifier defeat to Armagh.

Glen reached last year’s Derry SFC final, where they lost out to Magherafelt, and O’Rourke’s appointment is set to be a major coup for the club having led the Farney County to two Ulster SFC titles during his seven-year tenure.
