MEATH V KERRY JMDC

(Oldest Posts First)

A must win game for the county hurlers. Vital we win this match to give some hope of avoiding automatic relegation. We win this match and beat Laois in the last match we stay up. A tall order I know but we need to get behind the team on Sunday, Time to stand up and be counted for us all. The management need to stand up and be counted By picking the best players in their best positions, play the players where they are comfortable and happy playing in. They have tried to reinvent the wheel by playing players out of their natural positions and it has not worked it has backfired big time. Ennis tried this last year in the league final and it did not work , he reverted to type after that and it worked. They also need to get the players to play with passion, determination , will to win, guts, pride, hunger and plays as a team that would die for each other. All of this is the responsibility of the team management,None of the aforementioned attributes have been visible or evident in the first three matches.

The players need to stand up and be counted by putting in a display of fire , hunger, skill, commitment, determination and above an undying will to win for that green and gold jersey.

The hurling people, the Gaa people of Meath need to stand up and be counted by attending this match in their thousands to show the players that we are behind them and value the hard work they put in week in week out, month after month for little or no reward or glamor. Lets send Kerry back down south wondering what the F---k happened us today !!!

STAND UP AND BE COUNTED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Meath won the league final last year vs Wicklow easily, and Ennis played no players out of position that day. the team played very well against poor opposition. There was no positional issues in that game.

the game is this Saturday, not Sunday, in Navan.

I hope supporters get behind the team. Its a must win game.

Everyone knows the winning of the league last year was down to the conditioning of the players. They were flying in the later stages of all games. The unavailability of Ennis S&C coach is really hurting the team at the minute

I agree with you regarding the S & C of the team. In the CR finals and in the game v Westmeath last year lasting 70 + mins was not a problem. In the last game in Carlow we took the lead with about 10 to go and did not push on to win. Not knocking anybody, we are an amateur organization but I am led to believe that some of Mick O'Dowd's S & C team are now involved with the hurlers and the ability to finish out games is very similar. Too late to do anything about it now mid season.

However we need as much support as possible on Saturday.

Will The Management pick the correct team, He needs to start sully at 14 and James Kelly at 12, Joey Kean at 11
Healy at 6 ,Darragh Kelly at 3, Morris at 9 and work from their

Player bias is no way to pick a team

Loved reading the main article in the Meath page about last years game with Kerry.

Loved that game. Will never forget Anthony Fordey run after 70 minutes of championship hurling in the heat!!! The lads were really in terrific shape last year

Pathetic! Very disappointed in that today. We all jumped on a Kilkenny bandwagon and it took us backward. 4 changes before throw in shows there is no forward planning or thinking. Relegated 2 years in a row, but at least last year we showed fight & drive and had great fitness levels. This years has been shocking. We have went back to old, slow heavy players that didn't make it 3/4 years ago and we are expecting them to make it at a higher level.

You would hardly refer to Adam Gannon and David Connelly as being old, slow and heavy. I thought they fought to the very end today. And while it might happen we are not yet relegated. Beat Laois and we finish 5th and would then have a playoff against the Christy Ring Cup winners with the winners avoiding the drop. Hope can be a great ally.
