Schools: Moynalvey girls complete double in fine style

Moynalvey's Eva Gannon goes to ground during the Girls Division 4 final against Carnaross at Pairc Tailteann

The second game of the day at Pairc Tailteann saw Moynalvey girls complete a great day for the school by claiming the Allianz Meath Cumann na mBunscol Division 4 title with a comprehensive win over Carnaross. PHOTOS

Lilly B. Lydon got the scoreboard working with a goal for Carnaross but Moynalvey responded with 1-3. Eva Gannon got that opening goal and the outstanding number 10 finished the half with 2-4 as the winners went in at the break 2-5 to 1-2 in front.

Gannon and the equally impressive Aoife O’Shea extended their lead with quick points in the second half before Carnaross got their second goal courtesy of Riona Murphy. Again the winners replied in style with 1-2, Chloe Hegarty with the goal, before the score of the game came from 'Ross' midfielder Katie Woods who soloed through the field for a fantastic individual goal. Gannon got her third major soon after and the team in Maroon and White were well on their way to victory.
