Last years Meath IFC championship winners Trim staged a late late rally  to stun Dunshaughlin and claim the Meath Division 1B Football League title in windy conditions at Summerhill. PHOTOS

The cross field wind made it difficult for both team but it was Dunshaughlin who held the upper hand at the break leading 2-5 to 0-5, their goals coming in quick succession from Mathew Costello and Conor Duke.

Midway through the second half the Black and Ambers still had control on the game and led 2-9 to 0-8. With five minutes remaining manager Richie Kealy must have thought that the title was in the bag leading 2-11 to 0-12.

But Kevin Reilly’s charges are now a seasoned team and they kept going. Full back Luke Moran got an all important goal and a brace of points from the Lynch brothers  Aaron and Daire had the game all square heading into injury time.

Newcomer Tom Carmody was the hero of the hour sending over the winner just before the final whistle.

After the game Alan Douglas received the Division 1B FL Cup from Damien Griffin

Trim scorers: Aaron Lynch 0-7, Luke Moran 1-0, Ian Bermingham 0-3, Daire Lynch 0-2, Tom Carmody, Brian Dowling and Ciaran Caulfield 0-1 each
