Zak Rocks Festival of Football and Family Fun Day

October 27, 2021

A big thumbs up from Zak Moran

The Zak Rocks Festival of Football and Family Fun Day takes place in Paddy O’Brien Park on Sunday October 31st from 10am to 2.30pm.

11 years old Zak is a very talented footballer and hurler with O’Mahonys. Earlier this year the club and the wider community was rocked by the news that Zak was diagnosed with a Grade 4, highly aggressive, malignant tumour and is currently under going treatment in Temple Street Children’s Hospital.

Zak’s treatment has currently made significant changes to his mobility and as a result the family have incurred significant costs to make it possible for Zak to return home. There will be significant costs going forward related to his care, treatment and recovery and for this reason the Zak Rocks fundraiser was initiated.

The Festival of Football is O’Mahonys way of demonstrating the strong sense of community that the GAA brings and the importance of coming together in tough times and helping others in difficult situations.

Rivalries will be parked for a few hours next Sunday for a few hours at least as the clubs of Navan and its surrounds come together for this worthy cause.

Feel free to drop into Paddy O’Brien Park and watch the next generation of Meath stars.

Tea, coffee and refreshments will be available on the day.

Bake sale, fun family games and lots of entertainment gauranteed.

Check out Facebook for the Zak Rocks Mega Raffle Draw, tickets are available online. All proceeds, bucket collections, raffle and all associated events go to the Zak Rocks Fund.
